Among the ruins of the ancient city, almost completely buried under water a monologue of a spirit is heard. This is a spirit who have wandered for many centuries in cold cosmic abysses and returned again to this place - once it was her home. But now erstwhile superb edifices look with the black eye-sockets of yawning windows upon debris of former harmony and beauty. Her call just resounds in hollow spaces of half-sunk cathedrals and disperses in the air without an answer...
Time carries us back to those days when in these places birds sang among trees, children played and laughed, and flowers bloomed in the gardens. But terrible catastrophe destroyed everything in a moment.
And again there-s passage in time, and again we hear the monologue on lifeless ruins, crying into hollow spaces...
lyrics
I'm crying into hollow spaces,
And the shadow of grief sleeping deep
is creeping on me like a cloud,
I have come back again where once was my home,
To the world of my memories
which turned sullen and cold.
From the yawning black windows of an edifice
mighty and ancient
Now wrapped in a shroud of death and devastation
Turbulent unchecked streams of water rush out,
All the land is direfully flooded around.
The omnivorous water sways the sceptre
Over erstwhile opulent chambers,
It sneers and roars, collapses and smashes
In the pale ashen moonbeams streaming from heavens.

[Oh, look, it is his ship! Hail! Hail!
At last you have returned. I was missing. Come, tell me, surely you were a welcome guest there. Why are you silent?.. But what is it? What is it?!]
Till everything is gone
I want to feel your hand again,
I want to see the candles burn
And to remind spring blossom
Till everything is gone.
Till everything is gone
I want to look into your eyes again
And hear the song well-known
And think of home so dear and warm
Till everything is gone –
And to the timeless void I'm sent to roam!

Ages have passed since in my soul settled
Void of cosmic abysses and incurable pain
Doom has mercy to none and its judgements are callous
And there's shapeless disorder
instead of woods washed by rain.
There appear among sunk cathedrals
Bizarre freakish creatures of ominous races,
Where is blossom? Where is music ethereal?
I'm calling, I'm crying to hollow spaces…

A very pleasant album. Like other comments said, if you like the first Camel album (Moonmadness for exemple), you have to listen at this one. calm, relaxing are the first words that come to me
You can listen from the start to the end: it’s like a journey…. in the space! yodablanc

See my comment to the simultaneously acquired Phideax album: Beautiful music is very welcome in this crazy times...
Mostly instrumental rock progressivo italiano. If I got this right, this is kind of a decades-old family's affair. Good, that the, er, ragazzi finally started recording/publishing their music.
PS Well, not everything here exactly fits the "beautiful music" Iabel. Styles and moods vary from mellow/Camel to edgy/Crimso King. Carsten Pieper
